A DETAILED REVIEW OF AN OUT OF STATE, ONLINE PURCHASEI have lived in Albuquerque, New Mexico for thirty years, and one of my hobbies is shopping for used cars, purchasing them, and working on them. I was in the market for a used Honda CR-V that needed absolutely no work (purchasing for someone else). After a thorough search, I came across a 2009 at Sterling McCall Acura in Houston, Texas. Acura dealerships have high expectations from the manufacturer and are notable for being run with integrity, and Sterling McCall is a reputable name from the late 1960s and early 70s when I lived in Houston. I had some confidence that if the deal went through, it would go well. IT WENT FAR BETTER THAN I EVEN HOPED.PROFESSIONALI called Sterling McCall and was assigned a salesman by the name of Darrell Babineaux. He was aware that I was purchasing from out-of-state, and he satisfied all my concerns, including but not limited to texting me extra photos that captured small condition problems that turned out to be only minor. Darrell and his Sales Manager, Kim Eddy, were willing to negotiate a price that satisfied me, and I put money down over the phone with a credit card. The purchase price more than paid for my airfare and my return travel expenses. Darrell volunteered to pick me up at the airport when I arrived at Hobby Airport on the other side of a gigantic city. All I had to do was let him know when my flight arrived.KNOWLEDGABLEDarrell referred me to the Finance Manager, Jennifer Gipson, to finalize the deal. This was the first time I was purchasing a car for someone else, and Darrell had hinted around that my idea for paying for the car but putting someone else’s name on the title was a “straw purchase.” Ms. Gipson said the same thing; such a transaction was illegal. I changed my traditional loan with my credit union for a savings secured loan. Thanks to Darrell and Jennifer’s knowledge of automobile financing, I was able to prearrange the correct financing before I left for Houston.FRIENDLY SERVICE AND QUALITY AUTOMOBILESDarrell was waiting for me at the airport when I arrived. He was professionally attired, personable, and seemed concerned that I might need something to eat or drink after my flight. I had that Honda on my mind, so we drove straight to Sterling McCall Acura to inspect it. Acura dealerships sell incredible new cars, and for that reason, used cars that don’t meet high standards are not allowed on the lot. To my pleasant surprise, the CR-V was in better condition than I expected. Better than the photos made it look. Mechanically sound as I expected. In a way, it was more than what I expected; it was what I hoped for.RECOMMENDATIONI have purchased many automobiles over the years. This transaction went better than all of them, even though it was out-of-state and online. Such a transaction might raise so many qualms that some customers will decide to purchase a car closer to home and pay more, like I would have had to do. I highly recommend that you forego your concerns and be confident in doing business with a highly reputable dealership, Sterling McCall Acura.I bet all their salespeople are excellent, and I would be willing to work with any of them. However, I have one car purchase experience with Darrell Babineaux, and I hope to have another. I recommend you ask for him.Walter Rich
My sales rep, Mike Duong was honest and pleasure to work with. The dealership manager Larry is a hoot, gentleman, great and likeable guy and did not treat the customer as trash and if you don't buy get out of here attitude. RECOMMENDED for anyone interested in Acura models for their next vehicle purchase.

This review is for the Acura Services Department. Been here a bunch of times now to get my car serviced and have always had a positive experience. The people that work at the customer service area are friendly and courteous (Charlie was super nice on my last visit here). Check-in is fairly quick and straight to the point, they've never pushed me to add on more services than what I had originally made an appointment for. I absolutely hate waiting around but luckily their waiting area here is comfortable with a ton of cozy chairs, a TV, snacks, and also complimentary water, coffee, and tea. The bathroom is always clean and well-kept. Another bonus- free wifi! Also, I love the free car washes they give you with any services! AND they vacuum inside your car!! Saves me a trip to the car wash!! Thanks Sterling McCall!!
Bought a TSX. They got me best price in area (same car I saw elsewhere, for a lower price). Service department is good too!
Tori was an excellent salesperson and she helped me with everything as far as questions asked and the new car buying experience. There was no sales pressure whatsoever and I wish all new car salesman we're like Tori. She set a good example and I wish all salespersons were like her. It was an enjoyable buying experience.
